Press Release Regarding Scenario Seminar May 30th

For Immediate Release:

Changes to Notary Exam Format and Canceled PMN Scenario Seminar

As previously posted to the Pass My Notary community, on Friday, May 15, 2015, LSU-OAE announced a change to the state notary exam format by eliminating the written part of the scenario component. This unexpected change so close to the exam date (June 6, 2015) left many unsure of its implications for those who have previously taken the exam and only failed to pass the written portion. It has now been clarified and those persons are now qualified to be notaries.

The content of the exam is still the same and all of the Pass My Notary materials, as well as the material covered during the May 9th scenario seminar, are still as relevant as ever for adequate exam preparation. Understanding “content of act” requirements and statutory directives are the essence of critical knowledge. Knowing how to create a valid legal document helps you determine deficiencies in them.

Given this unprecedented change in the format so close to the exam, however, I will need to make some changes and adjustments to future materials and seminars to best prepare students for success on the exam.  A significant percentage of people enrolled in the May 30 PMN scenario seminar were folks who needed only to pass the written portion of the exam. With the exam change, they were refunded their money, since they are now notaries.  This has severely impacted the attendance requirements for the seminar.  For this reason, I have decided to CANCEL the May 30, 2015 scenario seminar. Those who purchased the seminar as part of a bundle will receive a $135 refund (your bundle purchase provided you with a 10% discount). If you purchased the seminar outright you will receive a $150 refund. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I trust you appreciate the extraordinary circumstance caused by the change in the exam format.

As always, feel free to contact me by email with any questions or comments and I will continue to be in touch with all of you in the PMN community. Check passmynotary.com regularly for any new announcements and information.
