Here are answers to many Frequently Asked Questions:

When? Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 9 AM- 3PM with hour lunch on your own

Where? Homewood Suites by Hilton, 201 Kaliste Saloom Road, Lafayette, LA

Who should attend?

  • Anyone preparing and studying for the June 15 state exam looking for a winning strategy to “put it all together”!
  • Anyone who has taken the exam before and needs more practical insights into how to succeed!

Is this a “crash course?

  • No. It is a “class” with both interactive lecture, and workshop opportunities with
scenario problems. It’s designed for those who have a working knowledge of the state
study guide but are having trouble making sense of the material.

What we’ll do and what you’ll receive?

  • Attendees will receive a 40-page seminar booklet that summarizes main topics and introduces you to our proprietary “Concept-Content-Context” and “Notarial Navigation Device” systems. This provides new insights into the many ways questions can be asked on the exam.
  • We will workshop new scenarios together that simulate exam questions, much like the Pass My Notary workbooks.

What if I already have Pass My Notary workbooks or materials from other sources?

  • Great! This live interactive event will further enhance your knowledge and confidence as you continue diligent exam preparation.

What if I’m planning on taking the test in September?

  • We do not yet know if we will have a seminar before that test. By attending in June you will be that much further along in understanding how the examiners will test you.

Here are a few items you should take care of in preparing for the Critical Knowledge Seminar/Workshop:

  • Make sure you have read through, marked up and annotated your current year study guide.
  • I do have an expectation that attendees would have studied my workbook and especially indexed the appropriate page numbers in your guide PRIOR to arriving at the seminar. While there is no requirement to have the current workbook for the seminar/workshop—it is very helpful.

What if I am coming from out of town?

If you are coming from out of town, you may make reservations with the Homewood Suites directly. Please mention the Pass My Notary rate, so they will know you are attending the event.

 How is the seminar/workshop conducted?

We will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. You may begin arriving for 8:30 a.m. The first half is designed as an intense overview of the most important, key topics—not a “crash course”. I will assume you have a working knowledge of basic notarial information, but will expand on it greatly.

After our break, the last half of our time will be devoted to “work shopping” previous exams and/or new scenarios. We will analyze what the examiners are looking for in order to succeed.  The goal is to get you to understand and see the process of how to analyze scenarios and documents in critical knowledge.  I will also point out “pitfalls” that can throw you off, just in the wording of the facts. We will end at 3:00 p.m.  We will have coffee and water for refreshments.

 What else can I expect?

Expect a relaxed environment to interact with others facing the same challenge as you. Expect a time of motivation to get you to the next level in your preparation.

I continue to stay in touch with those who have registered up until the test date. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have. Some people who attend have taken the exam previously, and usually got tripped up on one thing. Comments from those who took the exam previously are most helpful to all in attendance. I encourage that input in advance to me via email.

I look forward to helping you and I appreciate your investment of money and time as you prepare for this exam. It’s time to dig in now!
