How is the Louisiana State Notary Exam administered?
The exam is administered by computer in a four-hour sitting at LSU in Baton Rouge, according to the exam information previously published on the Pass My Notary website. The exam tests both general knowledge and the application of notarial law through scenarios.

When should I register for the exam?
Pass My Notary’s website has previously stated that exam registration deadlines are 30 days before the examination date. Requirements and deadlines can change, so confirm the deadline for your selected date directly with the Louisiana Secretary of State.
What is the Notary Exam Pre-Assessment?
According to information previously published on our website, new applicants must complete the online Notary Exam Pre-Assessment after their Application to Qualify is approved and before the applicable deadline for their selected exam date.

Does the Pre-Assessment score determine whether I can pass the actual exam?
